Sata 2 Vs Sata 3. Anyone who's ever looked at benchmard comparisons of HDD vs SSD would want to switch out as soon as possible. Even if it is SATA II, that shouldn't explain a huge drop in speed.
No rotational drive will come close to touching the bandwidth of SATA let alone SATA II in sustained transfer. The benefits of better SATA are really meant for the server arena, but it isn't like they hurt the general end user either. Phew found this old thread, guess it answer my query.
